We have a lot going on in November and December!
I’ve always believed there is no substitute for markets, the high street, open houses, or any opportunity to see the product before buying. We love to see customers pick up our products at fairs - there are no “Do Not Touch” signs on our tables!
Anyway, I’m pleased to announce our dates for Brighton markets and @artistsopenhouses in November and December.
I’m going to pin these dates here for the next couple of months.
Do come and stop by the markets and Artist Open Houses for a guided tour of our new products! It will be great to see you, and I’ll give more information about the Artist Open House shifts I’m doing closer to the time

A busy few days full of creative inspiration
- got the new coasters listed on @etsy
- Restocked at @stanley_road_store , this month the window display is orange 🍊 🎃
- London trip - first to Portobello Road to stop by the Open Art Market, restock at @urbanmakers_uk , then to the V&A to spend the afternoon looking at ancient pots. An incredible collection and still my all time favourite place to go in London. I’ve been watching lots of documentaries of 20th Century studio potters and found some of their work there too.
- my favourite start to the week is walking down to @pottery.gagliano on Monday for wheel throwing class. Learned loads, failed loads in a good way, handles definitely require practice. It finally clicked that anything is possible with ceramics, and all the possibilities are overwhelming - what direction do I want to take when I like so many different styles? I can see many years of trial and error and practicing ahead and looking forward to that alongside making my existing products.
- finally getting to work tidying the studio up so I can make more stock for Christmas

NEW! Embassy Court coasters are now available in our Etsy shop.

Featuring one of our earliest and most popular illustrations, originally designed back in 2018. Inspired by the modernist architecture of Embassy Court, we designed this illustration to be as simple and timeless as possible so it’ll never go out of style!

Now available in coaster form with red, blue, yellow and pink background options, also a set of 4 assorted colours.

It’s definitely still summer isn’t it? So I thought it would be good to show some behind-the-scenes and info about how we make our vibrant ultra-colourful posters.
Our prints are designed to brighten up interiors all year round and as always will be available at winter markets and open houses all around Brighton, info to follow soon.
Over the last month or two, we had some spare time to design some new posters, seaside-themed and London-themed, which we’re slowly working our way through listing online and sharing here.

An amazing weekend looking at and making ceramics!
Firstly I went to @tithebarnceramicsstudio for a wonderful studio tour with ceramicist @sarahvosmer who introduced me to @simonmusicpots - Simon very kindly instructed me and my friend Elisa on how to throw a bowl and operate his 1920s-designed Leach kick wheel.
The day after that I went along to @gallery19a to see the Thrown ceramics show and bumped into @frockandfringe whose ceramics I saw in person for the first time.
Outside of that, I trimmed some more pots at my Pottery Gagliano class but was too focused to remember to take any photos or videos of that. It was my favourite session making ceramics yet. And at the handbuilding course I glazed the pieces I made the week before.

This winter I have a feeling I’ll mostly be hiding indoors making ceramics non-stop but there are some Artists Open Houses and Christmas Markets I’ll be doing, which I’ll post about very soon!

At the weekend I went to @urbanmakers_uk with a restock of our newest East London matchbox-inspired prints.
I think we’re done with new poster designs for the year, and we’re starting to concentrate on being fully stocked with our existing designs in time for the Christmas season, along with releasing some new products with out artwork.

This week was really varied and enjoyable, from making pots to visiting a trade show to designing new prints. Busy, but my favourite kind of working week. And still loving learning how to make ceramics.

Tornado dispatched today @brightonetsy @etsyuk
This poster is one of our small range of aircraft posters, we have about five designs so far completed over the years. Some aircraft lend themselves well to poster design using only two or three colours, whereas others especially those with curves are quite challenging. I still can’t get the Spitfire or Vulcan to look quite right, the poster becomes either overcomplicated and fussy or unrecognisable. But I’ll keep trying!
